A Wedding to Remember (Literally)
Every wedding has its story—but this one? Let’s just say it came with a side of fire, flying glass, and a quick outfit redesign.
A few weeks before the big day, I got that call. The original planner had backed out, and a very sweet (and understandably panicked) bride was left with less than a month to plan a 200+ guest wedding. Challenge accepted.
Day-of arrived, and so did the chaos—on cue. The bride was fashionably late (because of course), tensions were high, and as the wedding party exited the ceremony, several floating candle vases took a dramatic tumble. Glass. Water. Panic. While the venue didn’t have a no-open-flame policy at the time… I’m confident they do now.
But the real plot twist? During family photos, the bride stepped just a little too close to the candles. Her dress caught on fire. Yes, fire. 🔥 Cue screaming guests, flying arms, and one very fast-thinking planner (me) doing an emergency redesign with scissors. The bride? Back to glowing in minutes—just with a little less tulle.
Later, the couple requested candlesticks at the reception. After the whole flaming bride situation, I kindly suggested… maybe not. We pivoted. It was stunning. No further fires.
Despite the drama, the night ended in pure joy. There was dancing, laughter, love—and now they’re happily married with a toddler who will absolutely hear this story one day.
Moral of the story? Things might go sideways, upside down, or up in flames—but with the right team, it’ll still be magical. And hey, it makes for a heck of a story.
